The RHA School programme is aimed at practitioners who already have an obvious competent skill and a desire to build and improve on it. Likely candidates need not necessarily be art professionals or post graduates in art studies. However, most attendees will have had some art school experience. The RHA School is run with an equal opportunities ethos but places are limited and selection of successful candidates is based mainly on the image portfolio supplied with any application.
Students on accredited courses are assigned a personal research project to be completed on a self-directed basis as part of the assessment process. Each module carries 5 credits and successful completion of all six accredited modules results in the award of a CPD Minor Diploma in Painting and Drawing. These courses are accredited by TU Dublin.
RHA School Access Programme
As part of the RHA School Access Programme, two free places on RHA School Workshops, Courses, Life drawing sessions and Masterclasses will be offered. One to an artist currently enrolled at any of the third-level art colleges in Ireland. The second free place will be offered to an artist of merit at any stage of their career. These additional free places have been made available through the generosity of an anonymous donor. Artists and art students who wish to be considered for these places should include, along with their CV and three images of current practice, a cover letter providing a short statement indicating how they would benefit from attending the course as part of their online application.
Queries about any of the RHA School courses or masterclasses should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
