Foundation in Drawing, Term 2 introduces specialised drawing methods dealing with the figure in space, accuracy through use of gridding, plumlines and advanced anatomy. There is an emphasis on proportions, foreshortening and modelling form. There is an increased emphasis on drawing methods from live observation. The module aims to hone and extend the drawing skill base of each student through specialised drawing methods. This is open to students who have completed the initial drawing module or artists who wish to build on an existing skill base and extend their knowledge.
This module will be delivered in the RHA Studio with several classes delivered via Zoom.
TU DUBLIN ACCREDITATION
The completion of all 6 modules are awarded with a CPD Diploma in Painting and Drawing, Technological University Dublin, Minor Award with a NQF Level 8. Students can complete all 6 modules over the course of one academic year or complete separate modules over the course of a number of years. All modules will be subject to the quality assurance and exam regulations of TU Dublin. Please note that students are not required to complete Term 1 courses before applying for Term 2 courses.

RHA SCHOOL ACCESS PROGRAMME
As part of the RHA School Access Programme, two free places on RHA School courses are offered – one to an artist currently enrolled at any of the third-level art colleges in Ireland and one to an artist of merit at any stage of their career. Artists and art students who wish to be considered for these places should include a cover letter with their online application providing a short statement indicating how they would benefit from attending the course.
