Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for kids and can be done with a partner of any age!
This workshop requires simple materials that can be found around the house, including paper, found materials (such as magazines, newspaper, tinfoil), pencils/pens/marker/crayons, glue or tape, and scissors.
Ellen Duffy lives and works in Dublin. She is the recipient of the RHA Graduate Studio award 2019/2020. She attended the Technological University of Dublin where she received her BA (Hons) Fine Art.
Duffy’s work falls between expanded painting, assemblage and installation. She explores the vitality an object/material possesses once it is introduced to the network of an assemblage. She uses found/discarded materials and through her haptic process creates a dialogue between one another. Her work attempts to look at the world as existing in perpetually changing assemblages that create infinite networks. Her work speaks to the inter-reliance between objects, space and viewer.
Ellen Duffy is currently working with artist Kate Murphy on a series of works on paper via An Post as part of a project commissioned by The Dock Arts. The process of their practices are overlapping, unfolding trust – they are physically connecting, maintaining a fruitful dialogue and challenging one another during these isolating times.
