This workshop will be split over two days, during which a sculpture can be formulated by each participant.The weekend is structured to produce formal objects that are affected by certain material possibilities. It will take place within an altered environment created by Fitz and the materials available will be unknown to the participants prior to the workshop. Each day will open with a presentation and each participant will work closely with Fitz to formulate an outcome.
The workshop will run alongside a corresponding exhibition by the artist at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.
Hannah Fitz, born 1989 Dublin, studied at NCAD, graduating in 2012. Currently working between Frankfurt Germany and Dublin, Ireland. This workshop will be run in tandem with the nal days of her solo exhibition at Temple Bar Gallery & Studios from 4 May – 30 June. Recent exhibitions include, a group show at Kerlin Gallery, Hannah Fitz, Áine McBride, Daniel Rios Rodriguez, Marcel Vidal, 2017, a two-person exhibition in NCAD Gallery with Daniel Tuomey Bored with a Hole, 2016 and a solo presentation In Light of the Lamp for The Douglas Hyde Gallery’s offsite program.
RHA SCHOOL ACCESS PROGRAMME
As part of the RHA School Access Programme, two free places on RHA School Workshops, Courses, Life-drawing sessions and Masterclasses will be offered. One to an artist currently enrolled at any of the third level art colleges in Ireland. The second free place will be offered to an artist of merit at any stage of their career. This additional free place has been made available through the generosity of an anonymous donor. Artists and art students who wish to be considered for these places should include a CV, three images of current practice and a cover letter providing a short statement indicating how they would benefit from attending any of the RHA School activities as part of their online application.
