Experience a night like no other, with a carefully selected blend of Ireland’s most cutting edge and dynamic artists, musicians, poets and creatives spread across the RHA’s stunning gallery spaces.
Presented by the RHA, Hennessy Lost Fridays showcase talent making waves in the Irish arts’ scene right now. Immerse yourself in innovative creative talent, including a magical spoken word performance from John Cummins; live music flanked by dancers and signature visuals from Bad Bones; a Valerie Francis performance drawing on everything from old synths and harmoniums to horns, drums and strings; DJ sets from Lime and Fancy which promise to be all pleasure and no guilt; and interactive art from illustrator and animator Holly Pereira. Guests can also enjoy guided tours of RHA exhibitions featuring works from Joy Gerrard, Leah Hewson, Carey Clarke PPRHA and the RHA Collection with RHA Director Patrick T. Murphy.
On the night, Hennessy’s expert mixologists will create bespoke Hennessy cocktails, as well as hosting cocktail masterclasses. RHA’s Coppa Cafe will also supply some scrumptious grub in their café as well as hosting a BBQ at the back of the building, serving up all their specials including their all-time favourite Mama’s Italian meatballs.
Bad Bones is Irish music producer and visual artist, Sal Stapleton. 2016 saw her release a single and visual each month, which have made stirs across the Irish music scene. www.badbonesmusic.com
Valerie Francis’ debut album Slow Dynamo caught the attention of Kanye West and her greatly anticipated new album is due out in 2017. Francis describes her sound as “musical hopscotch” and her songwriting is something to savour as she weaves hypnotic tapestries of sound, while her beguiling voice caresses and whispers. www.breakingtunes.com/valeriefrancis
