Pattern Platters with Leah Hewson
Workshop with artist Leah Hewson
Children aged 7 – 12 years old
Saturday 24 June, 2:00 – 4.30pm
In this workshop for 7 to 12 year olds we will examine what makes a pattern a pattern and where we might find them in every day life. Leah will be showing examples of these, the process of layering, and how she bring these into her own art practice.
We will be exploring together different ways to make a pattern by repeated texture, collage and stenciling. There will be an emphasis on experimentation of colour and the use of mixed materials such as markers, pencils, acrylic paint, coloured paper and stickers. On a grid layout, these will all be applied in a repeated sequence and layered up to create a pattern of fun abstract shapes, motifs and bright colours.
RHA Kids’ workshops are free, but places are strictly limited and booking essential.
To book your child’s place please email Michelle Considine, RHA Kids on firstname.lastname@example.org.
