RHA Learning Event

RHA Kids: Magnetic Story Cubes Sculpture Workshop with artist Anishta Chooramun (Ages 8 – 12)
12 Oct 2019
Time: 2pm - 4.30pm

Ages 8 – 12

In this workshop, children will learn to make their own personal story cube through drawing and origami. After working individually, children will bring their blocks together to build a sculptural composition. Children will develop stories as a group. By making simple changes to the building structure, the group will explore open-ended story possibilities. Children will engage in creative thinking, team-work, problem solving, and material exploration, and learn skills including origami folding, building, sculpting, engineering, and storytelling.

Anishta Chooramun, born in Mauritius, currently lives, works and studies in Dublin. A recent graduate from IADT Dún Laoghaire with a BA (Hons) in Art, Chooramun is currently completing a MA in Art Research and collaboration (ARC). Chooramun is the 2018/19 recipient of the RHA Graduate Studio Award. Chooramun’s work is informed by the diverse components that create our society, looking at society as a jigsaw puzzle, and how people co-exist and how one completes the other.

Booking essential. All places fully booked.

RHA Kids workshops are free to attend thanks to the generous sponsorship by IPUT.
