RHA Learning Event

A Sculptural Performance with artist Rhona Byrne, Ages 8 – 12
7 Apr 2018
Time: 2 – 4.30pm

Postponed | Please note that A Sculptural Performance with artist Rhona Byrne, due to take place on Saturday 3rd March, has been postponed. This workshop will now take place on Saturday 7th April, 2pm to 4:30pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

This workshop will combine visual art, performance and object theatre. Over the course of the afternoon participants will create large-scale sculptural objects using a range of materials and found or hand-made objects, at the end of the workshop these objects will become part of an ‘object theatre’ and will be animated through a performance. The performance will be filmed to post on the gallery’s Facebook page.

Rhona Byrne is an Irish artist based in Dublin who graduated from NCAD with a BFA in Sculpture in 1994. Rhona makes contextually responsive projects, sculpture, drawing and spatial environments that navigate the complex multi-dimensionality of physical and social space, embodiment and interaction.  Rhona is also an educator and facilitates art workshops with adults and children.
